Lost Your Android Phone? Just Google It

We all inevitably lose our phones at some point – whether it's deep inside your couch, buried underneath your sheets, or cooling off in the refrigerator (I mean, I know I've done this) – and we're often lead to spending a crapload of time dedicated to just finding the damn thing. Well, luckily, if you happen to be the owner of an Android phone, you can merely Google for the location of your phone the next time you lose it.

Google announced this week a new feature for Android phones that allows users to simply Google for the location of their lost Android phones. By simply typing “find my phone” in Google search on your desktop or laptop computer, Google will help you locate the precise location of your Android, showing you a map of where it's located, as well as an option to let it ring.

This feature also works for Android tablets. It's important to keep in mind, though, that regardless of whatever Android device it is that you're hoping to locate, they must have the latest version of the Google app installed. You also have to be logged in to the same Google account that you use on your computer.

However, the new feature will merely only help you locate your phone; if you want to remotely lock your phone and erase your data (you know, in case it's in someone else's hands), you'll have to use Android Device Manager.
