Macy’s, the American chain of department stores, announced today that it will bring its fashion incubator to Miami as an effort to foster talent in the city. The announcement was made by Edward Jay Goldberg, the Vice President of Government & Consumer Affairs for Macy’s during the annual Beacon Council One Community One Goal Meeting.

Goldberg went on to say that, “this is not to feather Macy’s nest” but rather a public program for the purpose of keeping talent in Miami.

Macy’s has previously established their one-year fashion program in Philadelphia and Chicago. The incubator will provide selected designers with workspace, curriculum, mentoring and other resources that will help them launch their fashion business.
