For over decade, EA Sports, the winning developer of sports video games including Madden NFL, FIFA, NBA Live, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR, NHL, NCAA Football, has used its popular football video game series Madden NFL to play futurist and predict the Super Bowl winner and score. Last week, EA Sports published the results from this year’s “Super Bowl Predictions” which leverages the video game to simulate the potential outcome of the game. To date, the video game simulation has predicted 9 times correctly to just three 3 incorrectly.
This year, Madden NFL 15 took it up a notch by not only predicting the winner, the New England Patriots, but also predicted the score correctly. It also saw a late comeback by the Patriots lead by quarterback Tim Brady and nearly correctly predicted his stats. Eery? Yes, a little bit but I’m impressed.
Chalk up another win for EA Sports – we’ll see how the predictions fair next year. They can’t possibly predict it this close back to back – can they? You can watch the online video simulation and Super Bowl XLIX Madden NFL 15 Prediction (below).
