San Francisco-based Marketo is opening its East Coast office in Atlanta, the company’s first major expansion since the recent IPO. Marketo, a software company that helps its business-to-business customers manage marketing campaigns and generate sales leads, will open a sales and customer support office in July and hopes to eventually add more than 200 jobs in the region.

“We see Atlanta as a vibrant market with a strong pool of talent,” Marketo spokesman Mike Moeller to Atlanta Business Chronicle. “The city’s globally connected airport and Eastern timezone makes it a convenient location to service European customers,” said Moeller.

The article confirmed that Marketo will make Atlanta its sales hub and “add more than 200 jobs over the next 24 months.” This move once again establishes Atlanta as a growing entrepreneurial hub in the region.

“Marketo establishing a presence here cements Atlanta’s role as the digital marketing capital of the United States,” said David Cummings CEO of Atlanta Ventures.
