It looks like Microsoft is developing a brand-new browser for Windows 10 for those who are not big fans of Internet Explorer. That’s according to a new report from Microsoft insider Mary J. Foley at GameSpot sister site Zdnet. Citing sources, she says the new browser is codenamed “Spartan,” and it’s not the next version of Internet Explorer, though that browser isn’t going away altogether. Foley’s sources went on to say that Windows 10 (the desktop version at least) will come with Spartan and Internet Explorer, presumably for backward-compatibility functionality.
It’s interesting to think of how browsers have changed throughout time. Remember the early Netscape days? Check out this cool interactive graph of the evolution of the web.
