Twenty-five of the most promising technology startups from the Midwest will have a chance to showcase their companies—and compete for over $7,500 in technology and legal services, computer hardware, and free online advertising—Thursday in Chicago at midVentures25.

A group of young entrepreneurs created midVentures25, to spotlight technology startups and match them with the region’s wealth of affordable startup resources—and investors and entrepreneurs. Investors and attendees can expect to see the latest in the fields of mobile applications, Internet technology, software, and alternative energy.

The evening of pitches, ideas, networking, and deals, will culminate with the award of more than $7,500 worth of prizes to the winning startup. Part of the prize package will include a Gold sponsorship (details on sponsorship here) at the upcoming TECH cocktail Chicago 13 event on Thursday, May 13th. To participate in midVentures25, a startup must be founded or currently located in the Midwest, be no  more than three years old, and must possess a high growth potential and be ready for market (i.e., “investor-ready”).

“The focus of midVentures25 is to show the national technology and investment community that Chicago and the Midwest has an abundance of early-stage innovators within the technology, consumer, and sustainability space,” says Geoff Domoracki, founder of midVentures and co-host of midVentures25.

midVentures is a Chicago-based technology venture development firm that focuses on incubating new startup concepts for investors and entrepreneurs.

midVentures25 was created by Jonathan Pasky, Geoff Domoracki and the midVentures team, and is produced with support from Pasky IP.

The event offers a good opportunity for startups and will be interesting to see the 25 midwest startups launch. It definitely falls in line with what TECH cocktail has been trying to do in a more informal fashion at our events since 2006 so we are happy to be a media sponsors for the event. If you are interested in helping us cover the event and would like a press pass please reach out to us via the “Send a message” link on the TECH cocktail Google Profile. We would love your help as the information could help other TECH cocktail readers. We would love your help as the information could help other TECH cocktail readers.
