Mobile Developers Win 30K in Cash Prizes With App for American Cancer Society

The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), in partnership with the Metro Atlanta Chamber, announced today the winners of the first ever Mobility Live Hack-Back Invitational.

Team MTM-Hack, lead by Tamby Kojak and included team members Matt Byrne and Mahmoud Abouelnasr, bested 5 other presenting teams, winning $12,000 as the overall winner of the competition. Their application was developed for the non-profit ,American Cancer Society, and it will enable cancer survivors to connect through the My Cancer Survivor Network which consists of message boards, real time messaging, mapping, and an experience tracker.

“We congratulate our winning teams, and all our participants in this year’s extremely strong competition,” stated TAG President/CEO Tino Mantella. “We look forward to seeing these solutions put to good use by our participating non-profits.”

The Mobility Live Hack-Back Invitational is a unique event whereby teams of hackers are invited to develop mobility solutions for national based non-profits in a competition for $30,000 in cash prizes. Teams of programmers, developers and coders were invited to compete in the event while helping to give (hack) back to three of the nation’s leading non-profit organizations: American Cancer Society, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and Points of Light.

Teams Superfly and Magenic also took home first place honors in their respective categories with each team winning $3,000.
