The applications for The Mobileys, Mobile Future’s national innovation competition, closed back in August, and it’s finally time to reveal the winners. This year’s Mobileys winners collectively demonstrate the transformative possibilities mobile connectivity holds for tackling some of society’s toughest challenges in new and creative ways.

In its second year, The Mobileys shines a light on those innovators who harness the power of mobile technology to make the world a better place. Mobile Future challenged mobile developers nationwide to submit their ground-breaking apps, products, and services for the chance to win recognition and up to $10,000 in prize money.

The winners of the 2014 Mobileys are:

  • First Place: Code Blue, CA:  a mobile app that helps teenagers and young people experiencing depression or bullying get immediate support.
  • Second Place: First Derm, CA: a mobile app that provides a faster, more convenient means to receive professional opinion on skin care.
  • Third Place: VolunteerMark, KS: an application that makes it easy to find the perfect volunteer opportunity based on skills, interest, availability and location.
  • Popular Vote, the “People’s Choice Award”: First Derm, CA

The Mobileys winners will come to Washington D.C. in December to accept their awards and share their innovations with the community. The best part comes next: we’ll see how the winners use their capital to transform the future.
