Earlier in June, Mobile Future announced that they would be hosting a national innovation competition, The Mobileys, for the second consecutive year. The competition seeks to highlight wireless and mobile apps, services, and products with an emphasis on social good.

Big ideas are hard to come by, but translating those ideas into growth and profit is another matter in and of itself. The Mobileys have the potential to open a world of opportunity for four startup pioneers who truly want to make the world a better place via wireless technologies.

As it currently stands, The Mobileys are accepting applications until August 18, when a blue-ribbon judging panel from the worlds of tech, mobile, VC, and angel funding will begin the review process. And Mobile Future has set aside $20,000 total in prize money for the winners and their game-changing mobile contribution.

The most revolutionary submission that best harnesses the power of mobile to create lasting social benefit will walk away with half the purse – $10,000. Second place will receive $5,000, third place $2,500, and the winner of the People’s Choice Award will get $2,500 as well.

So, step up and show off your mobile-fueled innovation. Who knows, maybe you’ll walk away with some green when all is said and done. After all, what startup doesn’t want more funding?
