Back in the 1960s, traveling to the Moon was a sci-fi dream. Countries poured millions of dollars into building rockets that could breach out atmosphere and put astronauts on the only other celestial body we could see without a telescope. And while trips to everyone’s favorite space rock have dwindled down to zero in recent years, one company has just become the first private enterprise to be given permission by the US government to leave this planet and go to the Moon. And it just so happens that their CEO will be part of a fireside chat at Innovate! and Celebrate 2016.
Naveen Jain, founder and chairman of Moon Express, has been relishing in the news of this historic ruling for the last few hours, as is evident from his Twitter account. The company is aiming for a 2017 lunar mission with a robotic spacecraft in hopes of ushering in a new era of lunar exploration and discovery.

Jain is no stranger to innovation. As an entrepreneur and philanthropist, he has always been committed to making the world a better place through technology and science. In addition to founding Moon Express, he’s founded the World Innovation Institute, TalentWise, Intelius, and Infospace, addressing everything from global problems to local issues in innovative ways.
Naveen Jain has been repeatedly honored for his entrepreneurial successes in dozens of ways. He has been heralded as Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year, Silicon India’s “Most Admired Serial Entrepreneur,” and the receiver of “Albert Einstein Technology Medal” for his pioneers in technology. Red Herring also recognized him as one of the “Top 20 Serial Entrepreneurs” and with the “Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Perhaps most importantly, Naveen Jain will be a featured speaker at Innovate! and Celebrate 2016 in San Jose this September. You will have the chance to listen to his wise words that transcend the business landscape of today. Just be sure to register here so you don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the man that will travel to the moon as a private enterprise for the very first time.
