Everything is bigger in Texas. The football games are bigger. The cowboy hats are bigger. Even the state is the biggest in the entire (continental) country. And if you think running a startup in this beautiful state is easy, you’ve got another thing coming. That’s why Tech.Co is interested in finding the best startup in Dallas before the week is out. Together with LaunchDFW, and thanks to sponsors like Silicon Valley Bank, The Dec and .Me, tomorrow’s startup competition will determine which two budding Dallas startups make it to Tech.Co’s Startup of the Year competition in San Jose this September.

The event, Dallas New Tech, will showcase 10 startups from the burgeoning Texas city hoping to go from good to great. Not only will they be awarded with a spot in our illustrious startup competition at Innovate! and Celebrate 2016, they’ll also be privileged to free airfare to the conference, courtesy of American Airlines.

Startups will be given 5 minutes to make their case, followed by a 5 minute Q & A which will allow audience members to clarify a few things before they make their decisions. The top two startups will be chosen by attendees.

It’s no secret why Tech.Co wants startups from Dallas to be apart of our competition. Many have said that Dallas is one of the most supportive startup ecosystems in the country, boasting a number of notable names in the startup world, like PICKUP and Veux. This competition will only serve to solidify this Texas city as one of the premier locations for startups.
