Now You Can Sound Drunk When You’re Actually Sober

When I first heard about Drunk Post translator, a hack created by Zantherus Community that translates otherwise sober-sounding text into drunk-sounding text, I really didn’t get the point. We want technology to help us NOT text when we are drunk, not the other way around. But I gave it a try anyway, by translating a quote by Steve Jobs.

How it works is pretty simple: you enter your text, select a filter (Tipsy, Drunk, Very Drunk, or Smashed) and then translate.

So when would you use this tool? Probably never, but it does make you wonder who the Zantherus Community is, doesn’t it? (Great marketing strategy because here I am writing about it).

Or maybe, you would use it when you need to be a flaky friend. Next time you want to cancel plans last minute, you can pretend that you had one too many drinks. No friend would be upset if they knew you were inebriated.

Get the sympathetic reaction:

Rather than the “I’m over your flakiness” reaction:

Other ways this tool could be used is to have a few laughs when you’re already drunk, or when you need to write a drunk dialogue for some script/creative writing essay. Ah, the gems you find on the web.
