OnLive logoHead to head competition seems to be a theme this week – Google’s Bookstore vs. Amazon’s, Google’s Chrome Store vs. Mozilla’s web app store – and in the area of streaming technology, the streaming game service OnLive has set its sights on Netflix.

OnLive chief executive Steve Perlman stated in an interview that his company is in talks with movie and TV studios to distribute their content.  With a streaming movie-option added to their gaming service, OnLive, whose user’s access via a broadband connection, would be in direct competition with Netflix.

In other OnLive news, the company announced yesterday the immediate availability of their Viewer mobile app for iPad, and a beta version for Android.

The movie streaming service may launch in early 2011.
