If you are going to put the time and effort into starting your own ecommerce page, you need to do it right. Otherwise, you are just going to have a website and products to sell, but no one visiting the website and buying the products. Your website needs to have certain elements that customers are looking for. The more attractive you can make your site, the more likely people are going to be to visit and actually buy things from you. Here are some tips that will help you to get the most out of your ecommerce pages.

Badges

Make sure that your users know that yours is a great site. Add a “badges” page, where users can see that yours is a reliable and trusted website. For instance, if you sell sneakers, you can have a badge that says you are an authorized dealer of a specific brand. Customers like to have these little reassurances, and it is going to help you see an increase in sales.

Great Images

Every great website has great images. When setting up your product pages, make sure that there are great images that show off your products in their best light. Your images are the most important part of the site. Make sure that customers are able to zoom in to see larger images, and that your images are of the absolute highest quality.

Call to Action

You need to prod your viewers into making purchases, which is why you need to have a call to action. For instance, you can have “add to cart” or “buy it now” beneath a picture, which is going to tell users that they can buy the product they are looking at right now. You may have to play around with a few variations until you begin to see an increase in sales.

Price Comparisons

Again, customers like to know that they are saving money. They also like to deal with companies that are honest. You can take care of both of these things by offering price comparisons on your website. Show what other companies are charging for the same and comparable products. This is also going to keep people from navigating away from your site, because they will have the information they need right in front of them on your page.

360-Degree View

You can increase your conversion rate simply by using 360-degree views on your website images. When customers can see products from every angle, they get a better view and are more likely to buy the products. You can expect to see conversion rates increase by as much as 40% simply by giving customers a 360-degree view.

Videos

One of the biggest drawbacks of online shopping is that customers can’t actually touch the items they are purchasing. This is a good reason for you to have demonstration videos on your website. By watching your videos, customers will get a feel for how a product works, how it looks, etc. When you are selling complicated items, videos are especially important. You can see an increase in sales of as much as 30 percent or even more by adding videos to your site.

Scarcity

People tend to want what they think they can’t have, and they will pay more for it. This is why so many companies have limited time offers and other deals that generate a sense of urgency in their customers. There are many ways you can do this. For example, you can have a banner saying that today is the last day of a sale, or that if customers buy in the next two hours, they can get a discount, free shipping, etc.
