Real estate is a tough field to navigate, for both homeowners and the professionals who work in the field. With the rise of highly successful web platforms such as Zillow and Trulia, real estate agents and brokers are faced with the challenge of keeping up.
The founders of Portland-based OwnerAide know that real estate professionals are valuable members of the community with extensive networks that could benefit buyers, sellers, and owners throughout the life of a home.
“According to the National Association of Realtors, 88% of home buyers say they would use their agent again when it comes time to sell their home, yet only 25% actually do.”
OwnerAide has come up with a thoughtful solution. They have created a platform that enables real estate agents and brokers to maintain a long-term relationship with their clients through sharing their professional networks and offering other goodwill services that will hopefully result in referrals and repeat business. The platform is usable for homeowners and contractors (home pros) as well.
Homeowners can post home improvement projects or repairs and there are step-by-step instructions on how to get the best bid on the job. Contractors can bid on these projects as well as build and showcase a portfolio of past projects for homeowners to view.
The service is free for homeowners and contractors, and costs $199 a year for real estate professionals to build their Home Pro Network. According to OwnerAide’s blog, the benefit to real estate professionals is as follows:
“They quickly become ‘everything home’ and the go-to resource for anything property-related. True property professionals maintain a large and active network of vendors, service providers, and home experts in local communities. They are connectors, advisors, and confidants.”
OwnerAide was created by real estate professionals to help others in their field and homeowners alike. They showcased at Tech Cocktail’s Maine Startup Showcase and Mixer in June.
