It’s both art and science. This is why I love web design and web marketing. It’s a place to be both creative and technical, artistic and analytical. As soon as I realized this, I was hooked.
So I quit my job in January, 2000 and immersed myself in the web. A year later, I co-founded Orbit Media, a web design company here in Chicago. Since then, Orbit has grown to an award-winning 30 person firm, launching more than 1000 websites for companies in Chicago and around the country.
My degree in Mandarin Chinese isn’t very useful, but while living and teaching in China, I discovered the joy of bridging communication gaps. I also learned teaching skills I use everyday.
There’s nothing better than learning something useful and then teaching it. You can find my web marketing advice on the Orbit blog and in our bi-weekly newsletter. I often give presentations on content strategy, search engine optimization, email marketing and Analytics.
I’ve put my best advice into a new book called “Content Chemistry” which you can find on Amazon. Here’s what one reviewer says: “Andy Crestodina has been incredibly successful using the techniques in this book to build Chicago’s top web design agency. It is astonishing that he is so incredibly transparent about how he has achieved this success, and proactively teaches it, through channels such as this book.”
Send me a message if you’d like to talk about a web project or if you need a speaker for your event. I’m happy to help however I can.
