I am a well-known “go-to” advisor in the New York City venture community. As a lawyer and mentor, I advise entrepreneurs and their investors on how to build successful businesses and I strategically guide them through the emerging, later stages and exits of their companies. I work with clients in a range of industries, including mobile, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, enterprise solutions and ad tech. I also counsel angel and institutional investors in their investments and in the formation of investment funds.
I am a co-founder of IMG Labs, a new innovation incubator set to launch in Union Square in early 2015. I am also a co-founder of mobile advertising company, Mojiva Inc., which was acquired in 2014. In addition to being a regular speaker on the NYC venture events circuit and a media resource on entrepreneurialism, I am a Mentor to 37 Angels and chair of the NYC Chapter of the MIT Enterprise Forum. NYC startup news blog, AlleyWatch, recently named me one of “20 Awesome People in the New York Tech Scene You Need to Know About.”
After years of advising entrepreneurs, first as the head of Fish & Richardson’s Venture Capital practice and most recently, as Chair of Chadbourne & Parke’s Emerging Companies/Venture Capital Practice, I finally decided to become an entrepreneur myself–I launched my own firm, Hoberman Law Group, in the fall of 2014.
