For the last two and a half weeks, Startup Maryland, a regional leadership team affiliated with the Startup America Partnership, has been on a bus touring the state showcasing entrepeneurship in an effort called Pitch Across Maryland. The tour stretched across the state with stops and activities along the way. For example, the first stop on the tour was in Ocean City, Maryland (see photo below).

At each stop, the Startup Maryland team shared information about the various entrepreneurial resources across the state and in the Mid-Atlantic region. Entrepreneurs received coaching and support from business mentors and other Maryland leaders.

As part of the tour, entrepreneurs showcased their startups in the Pitch Across Maryland contest, giving pitches at more than 20 tour stops. The tour concludes today, September 28th, in Columbia, Maryland, at Merriweather Post Pavilion with a celebration that will feature live music, prizes and a speech from Honest Tea founder and CEO Seth Goldman.

Kevin Plank, CEO and founder of Under Armour, Inc., and Startup America National Board Member, joined Startup America CEO Scott Case, Startup Maryland’s Julie Kirk, and Brian Sheavly.
