It’s only been a few weeks since Porch announced the close of their $65 million Series B funding round, but they’ve found their way back into the news regardless. Porch recently partnered with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to announce that homeowners can now find BBB information like ratings and accreditation statuses, for millions of professional services right in their Porch search results.
“Porch has based their business model on trust, transparency, and collaborative information, and they share BBB’s commitment to building trust between consumers and businesses,” says Mary E. Power, President and CEO of the Council of BBB.
According to Matt Ehrlichman, CEO of Porch, his platform is the first website and mobile app in the home services space to offer nationwide integration of BBB ratings and accreditation status. And any consumer who wants to read more can always click through to read the entire BBB review for specific services.
“We are on a mission to make Porch the place you go to find the best and most trusted home improvement and maintenance professionals,” says Ehrlichman. “Partnering with BBB is a natural fit for us, since consumers have been relying on BBB for more than a hundred years to help them find businesses they can trust.”
The agreement reached between the two parties gives Porch 6 months of exclusive access to BBB accreditation and ratings for the industry. To date they’ve matched more than 3.2 million Porch profile pages to BBB reviews.
“Our BBB Accreditation is our best marketing tool and key to our success, bar none,” says Jim Borst, president of West Coast Roofing and Contracting. “To our prospective clients, it illustrates stability, professionalism, and the ability to work through conditions that our industry inherently produces when disrupting the norm. Now with the agreement between BBB and Porch, our accreditation will gain even greater exposure.”
This announcement, given Borst’s testimony, shows that the BBB and Porch won’t be the only ones who stand to benefit from this partnership. In fact, SMBs who traditionally have a tough time marketing will be able to leverage the partnership and newly added functionality of the Porch app towards their success. It’s a classic win-win-win situation.
