If you’ve ever worked in retailing, you know that brands and retailers need each other. Brands launch super creative online promotions, but hit a wall when it comes to marketing them locally. Retailers, on the other hand, have access to online local marketing channels, but need help with promotions. The solution? Promoboxx.
Boston-based startup Promoboxx allows brands to launch, promote and track online marketing campaigns with their retailers, including coupons and sweepstakes, that empower them to build leads and drive sales.
There are a few competitors out there (Wildfire, Buddy Media), but Promoboxx sets itself apart by focusing on strengthening those partnerships between brands and retailers, engaging more shoppers on a massive scale, and working directly with independent retailers.
And where daily deal sites fail – flash mob-style promotions that overwhelm small businesses – Promoboxx focuses on re-occurring, sustainable online social promotions that benefit the brand and retailer while selling more product.
Founded by 3 people with really deep backgrounds in marketing – Ben Carcio, CEO, Dan Koziak, CPO, and Sonciary Honnoll, VP of Marketing – I’d say that Promoboxx is one of those startups you want to keep your eye on. Ben comes from CCA Global Partners, where he did exactly what he’s doing at Promoboxx. Dan is a startup veteran who developed promotions for global brands, and Sonciary (sun-seá-ray – I know – I would never have figured that pronunciation out either), is a marketing and branding strategist and also a veteran of the startup world.
The team will be demoing Promoboxx at Tech Cocktail Boston on Thursday night, so be sure to swing by and say hi.
