The Rap Test has been continuously releasing new quizzes on their platform for a while now, featuring different rappers for users to test their knowledge . Today they announced a new partnership with Coinbase and one of hip hop’s most legendary rappers, Nas.

If you’re unaware, The Rap Test is a platform designed specifically to test your working knowledge of specific rappers, in this case, Nas. The twist with this new release is that co-founder Danny Friday has partnered with Coinbase to award a combined $1,000 in Bitcoin to the top fans.

“We were trying to figure out what the best way we could do this was, and it wasn’t until I met the founders of Coinbase that we pieced this together,” says Friday. “One of their founders is obsessed with rap. We vibed for a bit, talked it over, and realized it makes perfect sense then to have bitcoin as a prize.”

Part of what makes this agreement special is the fact that Nas is an investor in Coinbase. He also has strong views about how Bitcoin in general might help underserved and underrepresented populations in America.

“Nas thinks bitcoin will help the people disenfranchised by local banking,” says Friday. “For him it’s a real emotional thing because he saw how many of his peers, or those he grew up with in the projects, dealing with these awful institutions holding people back.”

Nas also sees the parallels between Bitcoin and the early days of the internet. According to him Bitcoin is today what the internet was 20 years ago, and he sees how an entire new way of doing business can come out of this.

So, if you think you’ve got what it takes to be crowned champion, you might just walk away with a nice chunk of Bitcoin change. Good luck, rap lovers!
