Finding a place to sleep at night while traveling should have no middlemen. With an overwhelming number of choices, and more entering the scene each day, finding the best rate for a night’s rest should be light on your conscience as well as your wallet. Thankfully, we have applications like Roomlia to allow just a bit more peace of mind in a hectic world.

Created by two former Expedia employees, Michael Reichartz and Jim Ferguson are only looking to help you go easy on your wallet. With Roomlia, the app cuts out go-betweens like Expedia and and connects you directly to the hotel of your choosing the instant you book, forgoing negotiations between the booking site and the hotel itself. This means a better nightly rate for you and no hassle with a mediator. Roomlia will show you an extensive list of cities and, upon selection of a location, will offer a large list of hotels complete with pictures, ratings, and average prices. With an intricate structure that connects you directly to hotel operations systems, a single swipe and a tap will net you a hotel room for up to five nights in your city of choice.

Since Roomlia is all about saving you money, the app will often offer special discounts from the get-go. More serious room browsers who are not quite satisfied with the rates on display will often receive temporary deep discounts after looking for some time, indicated by a red flag—a nice bonus for not just returning users, but those looking for the absolute best rate available.

Roomlia also benefits the hotel side of things, as the direct relationship helps manage room inventory and minimize errors in busy times. What that means for you is never worrying about showing up for a reservation only to find out there is no room.

With the advantage of getting great rates on stays up to seven days in advance, Roomlia is a great choice for the constantly moving traveler. The one foreseeable downside is that Roomlia is not beneficial for long-term bookings. The hefty discounts sure encourage anyone on-the-go to use the service, but anyone planning a vacation in the distant future should instead opt to use a different application or contact the hotel staff directly for bookings.

With countless competitors on digital markets available, Roomlia is undoubtedly carving a niche of its own, even in a world where chains are getting in on the action. Hilton recently launched their Hilton HHonors app that allows users to select their preferred room the night before check-in. Though not as sophisticated, Roomlia has the advantage of offering multiple hotels at your fingertips instead of a specific chain.

Roomlia is available now on iTunes and the Google Play Store.
