Blogging Tips for Startups from Sarah Kathleen Peck

Among other things – and there are many other things – Sarah Kathleen Peck is a writer. But it took her a while to realize it, even though she spent her spare time crafting too-long emails, scrawling in notebooks, and inventing stories in her head.

Now, she digests books by writing down her thoughts. She has volumes of unpublished material, ideas and stories that might one day turn into books themselves. She uses her writing to raise money, inspire, and connect.

Many of Peck’s thoughts get put on “paper” for ItStartsWith, her personal blog focused on motivation, psychology, and storytelling. She’s also the editor of Landscape Urbanism, a journal and blog about designing the landscape of cities. The project grew out of a fellowship from SWA Group, where Peck works as a communications specialist.

Peck joined us at Tech Cocktail Week in January, and she offered some advice to startups on what to blog about. Here’s the video.

Tech Cocktail Week is a monthly series of events that takes place downtown Las Vegas and is produced in partnership with Tony Hsieh’s Downtown Project.
