People like to communicate differently over time – when phones (and mobile phones) first arrived, spoken conversations with calls were the unique choice, and when the first mobile phones came with the ability to send and receive text messages, those conversations became another choice of communication for consumers.
Then, gradually over time, this paradigm began shifting and for years on end text message was the go-to choice when it came to communication, especially among youngsters. However, in the last few years, with the rise of smartphones, text messages are also getting relegated to a secondary position, with new means of communication arising.
Apps like Facebook Messenger, Snapchat or Telegram allow users to communicate in a different fashion, using photos, videos, recordings, and so on. Now, a new app adds two interesting pieces in this game. Shizup is an app that allows users to effortlessly create and send memes and GIFs to their contacts, and is available for iOS and Android.
However, unlike many other meme generators lying in the app stores, this app does not require users to be very meme and Internet-savvy (knowing how to upload and change text and then save and send to their contact via email or other applications). With Shizup, users can be spontaneous, as they simply have to choose a photo and fill in the captions – that’s it; the meme gets created and is sent to the desired person.
Also unlike many other meme generators, memes created with Shizup are not publicly shared, so people can upload and use their own pictures, which can be shared with users within or outside Shizup’s network. This app is really easy-to-use, giving people the chance to have conversations based in memes or animated GIFs, which can also be recorded and sent within the app.
“We live in a highly visual world where the classic text message is becoming obsolete,” said Tamir Weiss, Co-Founder of Shizup. “At Shizup we ask, why text when you can meme? Combining text and photos caters to our visual world but still keeps a fun conversation going.”
This app has the potential to become a hit, not only with those who are Internet-savvy but virtually everyone, also increasing the popularity of memes in the generality of users.
