At Techweek in Chicago this weekend, entrepreneurs who hitch a ride with Sidecar could win $2,000 in seed funding for their startup.

Sidecar connects people who need rides with background-checked drivers, whom they pay a voluntary donation. In a creative marketing scheme called #PitchMyRide, three venture capitalists will be riding around in Chicago Sidecars from 10 am to 8 pm on Friday and Saturday. If you hail a Sidecar to Techweek and find an investor in it, you can spend the drive pitching your idea.

(The investors’ identities aren’t being revealed yet, but you’ll know it’s them because they’ll be in the passenger seat – normally, the passenger seat would be empty.)

Your idea can be anything from a gadget to an app to a small business or restaurant.

The winning pitch, announced at the Cheeky Chicago Techweek After-Party, gets $2,000 in seed funding on terms to be negotiated with the investors.

After Techweek, Sidecar wants to bring this “Cash Cab meets Shark Tank” to other conferences, including SXSW in Austin.
