We are proud to partner with Microsoft Ventures to promote their Machine Learning Accelerator in Seattle.
The Microsoft Ventures Accelerator Tour is visiting 11 US cities to spread the word about their accelerator programs that run in 7 cities(Bangalore, Beijing, Berlin, London, Paris, Seattle, and Tel Aviv) around the world. This tour is specifically to promote the Machine Learning Accelerator in Seattle which is currently accepting applications for their new class beginning on February 2, 2016.
On November 19, the tour will make a stop in Seattle, the city that is home to the only Microsoft Ventures Accelerator program in the US. Seattle is an excellent choice for both a tour stop and the accelerator as it is one of several West Coast cities teeming with innovation. A month ago, Tech.Co hosted a leg of their Startup of the Year Competition and Tour where Keepe walked away as one of the semifinalists. The city was also ranked as one of the best cities for female entrepreneurs in 2014.
Seattle is home to one Microsoft Ventures Alumnus–Slope. Here’s a little bit about the company.
What Does Slope Do?
Slope is a media collaboration platform for marketing and creative teams. It helps project managers and team members keep projects organized, within budget, and successful. It provides cloud-based storage for media asset management which users can access with custom tags, visual organization of active projects which can be organized by due dates and deliverables, and sharing, commenting, and approvals which can be accessed by anyone with permission, including clients.
How Slope Came to Be
Slope was founded in 2013 by Dan Bloom and Brian Bosche. It started out as a video agency in Detroit. They quickly learned that while they loved telling stories, they hated the process of managing files, organizing projects, and collecting feedback during the approval process. They weren’t happy with the solutions that existed, so like any good entrepreneur, they created their own.
In 2015, they entered the Microsoft Ventures Accelerator in Seattle, and raised a seed round from Bizdom Ventures, Venture for America, and Angel Investors. Slope is currently in beta as they continue to improve their set of tools to make collaborating on media projects efficient and productive.
