Keep Your Smartphone Batteries Charged with a Simple Magnetic Display

CES 2015 is here, which means one thing. Just kidding; it means a lot of things. For the attendees, it means keep those smartphone batteries charged! You can never be too sure how hard your battery will be working to fight through all the noise and find a decent Wi-Fi signal. Which portable charger is in your arsenal?

This new campaign for the MagTarget that just launched on Indiegogo plans to keep your smart devices charged throughout the day with a simple touch of the dock. According to the founders, today’s smartphone batteries actually benefit from constant re-charging, as opposed to the batteries of the past, which encouraged complete drain before getting plugged back in.

The stand operates with a magnet, but fortunately this magnet does not interfere with operation of the device. According to the campaign, “This took many prototypes to achieve and we are quite proud of the result!” Being able to place your device in its desired position while still getting a charge has been a major challenge inherent in display stands, and the main reason that cords become destroyed.

For cordless charging when you don’t need a mount, such as when you’re attending a major trade conference, MagTarget offers a base in addition to a dock.

If this campaign funds, the MagTargets will ship in May. The goal is set at $25,000, and there are backer opportunities that get you a product from $29 on up to a retail package at $7,400.
