The topic, sadly, isn’t a new one. Perhaps more sadly than that, however, is the fact that it doesn’t seem likely to end tomorrow. By “that” I mean the theme of women in technology and business, or more accurately the dearth of them. On Sunday, April 18th Claire Cain Miller wrote a story, “Why So Few Women in Silicon Valley?” for the front page of the New York Times Sunday Business section on the topic. It caused quite a stir among the considerable number of women who had some issue and concern about how we can start to progress this story.
This week Allyson Kaplin of Women Who Tech – along with Leigh Ferreira of TED and Dr. Kiki Sanford of This Week in Science, will join Cathy to talk about the “real” story and issues. Claire Cain Miller has been invited to be on the show but as of this writing has not responded.[audio:http://www.blogtalkradio.com/social-media-hour/2010/04/27/social-media-hour.mp3|titles=Social Media Hour Episode 54 |artists=Cathy Brooks]
