For businesses, turning Facebook fans into paying customers is the goal, right?  It’s great to be liked, yet it’s even better to make a sale.

Social PIO is a Facebook app-based marketing platform that enables businesses to acquire and cultivate customers using “Pass It On offers”. The Social PIO team believes this “word of mouth” form of advertising encourages the growth of manageable and re-marketable brand advocates.

“Many brands are experiencing difficulty capturing and identifying their best clients, not just fans through social media or a variety deal chasers. PIO Social marketing platform harnesses Facebook to find their best brand advocates and allows them to use word-of-mouth to actively promote their products or services.”

Social PIO is led by two experienced web technology entrepreneurs. Patrick Blake, Social PIO’s CEO, was co-founder of Tunes.com, which was funded by Goldman Sachs and acquired by eMusic, and co-founder and CEO of FOB.com. He has raised in excess of $50 million of venture capital from various VC portfolios for his different startup ventures. Aji Abraham, CTO is Founder and CEO of iScripts, a web app development company.

The Beta site is set to launch soon – you can sign up to be notified of the launch. Social PIO is also one of the featured startups at the Tech Cocktail Chicago on March 31st if you’d like to meet the team!
