Startup Weekend is a time-honored tradition and global grassroots movement to rapidly collaborate and build a business over a weekend. According to a press release from the Startup Weekend Las Vegas organizers, “Teams organically form around top ideas, as determined by popular vote. Each team has 54 hours to create a business model, code, design, and determine market validation. The weekend culminates with presentations of top ideas to entrepreneurial leaders and venture capitalists.”

“We are so pleased to sponsor an event like this that brings together members of our Vegas Tech community,” said Lexi Glaser, Director of Innevation at the Rob Roy Innevation Center Powered by Supernap, which will again host the event this coming weekend. “Hosting Startup Weekend has become somewhat of a tradition for us at Innevation. We love the energy and enthusiasm the participants bring and we’re always excited to see the next great idea that’ll help move Nevada forward.”

Startup Weekend Las Vegas is notable for its ability to unite the VegasTech community and forge lasting business relationships. Rumgr, the winner of best design at the 1st Las Vegas Startup Weekend, recently sold their software to retail giant e-Bay and is now actively working for eBay on the Close5 app built upon the original Rumgr framework. Local founder and mentor Thomas Knoll has not only organized past Startup Weekends, but has participated on several teams and is still running Primeloop, which originated as ClippPR and was a winner of Las Vegas’ third SWLV. The weekend event is open to anyone, and the energy that surrounds Startup Weekend can keep a startup junkie buzzing for months!

Startup Weekend is back in Las Vegas on November 21-23. Startup Weekend is a 54-hour event where developers, designers and business folks come together to pitch an idea and launch a business, all in one weekend.  It is a great opportunity to test startup ideas, meet potential co-founders, build the community in Las Vegas and launch your next startup!  For more information and to register for the event visit:
