Last month, we first reported on Steve Case’s Rise of the Rest Road Trip, a tour through four under-recognized startup ecosystems, including Detroit, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Nashville. The road tour officially begins today, with Case tweeting a selfie with Quicken Loans founder and chairman, Dan Gilbert:

At each stop of the tour, Case will meet with entrepreneurs and innovators that are contributing to the growth of their local startup communities; since moving its main operations to Detroit in 2010, Quicken Loans has enabled the growth of thousands of new jobs in the area. In addition, Case will take part in a startup pitch competition later today and invest $100,000 in one Detroit startup.
