As I meet startups from around the country, it continues to surprise me how they evolve to introduce products and services that are so intuitive, you are left asking, “Why didn’t I think of that?”
Such is the case for Storymix Media, an automated video creation platform that allows wedding guests to capture a wedding from their point of view. Storymix sends hand-held HD video cameras to soon-to-be married couples, who then distribute them to their guests.
Because so many people use their smartphones to capture video, Storymix Media has taken their wedding video offering one step further by developing an iPhone App for all those wedding guests who have an iPhone.
Whether they use the app or hand-held cameras, wedding guests can capture video footage and upload it to the couple’s Storymix Media account, publish the video, and send congratulatory notes to their Facebook page. After the wedding, the couple can view each of the videos and determine whether or not they would like the footage included in the edited video that is produced by the Storymix Media team.
The app is free to download, but it requires a paid video editing project to use. My hope is that as the app is increasingly used, the team will roll out an Android.
They are looking for beta testers, so if you would like an interesting way to capture your wedding from multiple viewpoints, here is your chance.
