Everything is more fun when you turn it into a game, and that is exactly what startup Studio Cypher is doing for projects as diverse as conferences and zoo exhibits. Studio Cypher designs online games that raise funds for nonprofit and community-centered organizations.
The Studio Cypher team believes technology can be used to improve the lives of its users, so it focuses on helping public-minded businesses enhance their use of the Internet through new revenue streams and creative customer engagement.
Studio Cypher helped facilitate communication at an Indiana University conference focused on academic research in virtual worlds. The card game developed specifically for the event, a poker variant with the added component of idea generation, helped conference participants share ideas and communicate as they were creating a proposal to share with other attendees.
Another engaging project the team has worked on involved partnering with the interactive designers at Nogginaut to create a six-game installation for the Ancient Americas exhibit at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago. You can check out the installation here.
Besides developing creative games, Studio Cypher can help businesses assess their Internet and software use, as well as create custom mobile apps. Studio Cypher was featured at our Bloomington Startup Mixer on Thursday, which kicked off The Combine Conference.
