Attention all TECH cocktailers: we need your books! Frank and I want to support a local literacy program called Open Books that was founded and is run by Stacy Ratner. Stacy is a tech startup veteran and the sister of Dan Ratner, COO of SitterCity and a big time Chicago tech supporter (not mention he’s just a really nice guy).
Open Books is a social venture that takes donated books and sells them online as well as their own bookstore, which isn’t open yet but should open soon. All of the profits from the book sales go to the literacy programs Open Books runs, which are top notch and numerous.
The work Stacy and her team at Open Books are doing is truly remarkable and is certainly bettering our city. I hope all of you will be able to bring at least one book to TECH cocktail Chicago 10 to help support literacy in Chicago.
