After four years of rallying local tech communities outside of Silicon Valley to better connect, educate and amplify the local startup and entrepreneurial scene, we are excited to be hosting out first TECH cocktail startup mixer in San Francisco on Tuesday, September 14th from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The event will take place at Roe in San Francisco and will showcase some of the hottest new tech startups in the area.

Why are we headed to San Francisco? It’s pretty simple. After hosting “Silicon Valley like” mixer events for entrepreneurs since 2006 in Chicago, DC, Boston, Boulder, Austin, San Diego, Detroit and more, we see a need to help some of the early-stage startups in San Francisco get their message out too. So we’ll be offering free demo space at our mixer event for a handful of San Francisco-area, early-stage startups.

Helping Startups Get Exposure – TECH cocktail offers a handful of startups an opportunity to show off in an expo-style to the rest of the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial community for FREE. Through the years, we’ve showcased hundreds of startups such as: SocialThing, SCVNGR, BandsInTown, OneForty, HaveMyShift, CrowdSpring, Edmodo, GeniusRocket and many, many more. During past mixer events we have had companies find employees, co-founders, funding and some start-ups have even been acquired. If you are an early-stage startup, have taken less than $500K in investment and are still under 10 employees, please apply for a free demo spot at our upcoming San Francisco TECH cocktail startup mixer by filling out this form – apply here now.

Helping Companies Hire Employees, Launch Products and Support the Local Tech Community – We still have sponsorship opportunities at the event which range from $1K to $5K based on the level of participation. Some of our past sponsors have included Google, AOL, Intuit, PayPal, Intel and more. You can contact us at sponsor@techcocktail.com. If you are a company looking to hire, you can also leverage the TECH cocktail job board to get the message out early – or you could sponsor the event and use it as your own personal job fair.

Connecting Startups and Investors – To continue to add value and stay true to our “cocktail mixer of tech people” theme, we are calling all Bay area entrepreneurs looking for seed funding or angel investors as we will be trying to help match local startups with local seed or angel investors. If you are an angel investor interested in finding additional deal flow we look to help you too. We know that this type of connection has happened naturally at our events in the past, but we want to help water the seeds a bit and ensure that the fruit of our labor is a better connected entrepreneurial community. Just for fun, be sure to read these “old school” TechCrunch articles from our first two events in Chicago here, here and a more recent DC event here. Yes, we roll retro with our pals at TechCrunch as we’ve been doing this just about as long as they have – since 2006. Hope you can make it to our first San Francisco mixer event!
