Techstars Partners With XPRIZE to Take on the World’s Challenges

Whether it’s tackling space travel or saving the oceans, the XPRIZE brings together some of the best talent from around the globe together to solve the world’s challenges.

XPRIZE, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is the global leader in designing and implementing innovative competition models to solve the world’s grandest challenges. They’re philosophy is that — under the right circumstances — igniting rapid experimentation from a variety of diverse lenses is the most efficient and effective method to driving exponential impact and solutions to grand challenges.

Techstars recently announced they will be partnering with XPRIZE to support the 150 teams in the IBM Watson™ AI XPRIZE competition and bridge the mentorship communities to help the companies succeed. The competition is a $5 million competition, challenging teams globally to develop and demonstrate how humans can collaborate with powerful AI technologies to tackle the world’s grand challenges,

Techstars mentors, executives, managing directors and others will work with the teams through mentorship, webinars, and in-person workshops with the goal of supporting the commercialization of the ideas.

We are excited to build relationships with the XPRIZE teams and see how they are using technology to solve the world’s most pressing problems. The IBM Watson AI teams have an entrepreneurial vision that aligns with the mission of Techstars. We help entrepreneurs succeed and we’re using our worldwide network to support this program.
