Getting married and planning a wedding can be a time consuming and frustrating process (that’s what they tell me anyway).  Some bride-and-groom-zillas live for planning each detail of the big day, while others look for great resources to help ease the stress of the occasion.

Timothy Chi found his wedding planning experience to be a frustrating one and decided to try to do something to improve the process. When he looked around the wedding planning industry, he did not see an online resource that stood out as a clear go-to resource. So the Washington, DC-based co-founder of education platform Blackboard decided to take advantage of this opportunity and turn his idea into action by creating WeddingWire to improve the wedding planning experience.

I recently interviewed Timothy Chi as he shared some insights, advice and perspective from his startup experiences at both Blackboard and WeddingWire. Watch the video interview with Timothy Chi.

This video was recorded at the Water Street Project in Georgetown in front of the fine art work of DC-based Maggie O’Neill which made for a one of a kind DC themed backdrop for this video interview. It is also part of the Tech Cocktail Conversations podcast – subscribe on iTunes.
