Be it two minutes or half an hour, those minutes when you can relax your brain a bit are priceless. Of course, you know best what makes for a quick recharge for yourself, but a good game “helps” you procrastinate (or just focus on other things for a few minutes), just to make a great comeback afterwards and solve your challenge in no time. So, without further ado, here is my recipe for this weekend and the week ahead.

99 Moons

Here is a true indie success: the two-person RisingHigh Studio based outside of London, UK. You may already be familiar with their creativity, as their apps have been featured seven times by Apple through Appsolute Games – think of titles such as Dashy Panda, Chaos Chambers, and Impossible Caves – RisingHigh has launched its first self-published game, 99 Moons. The game challenges you to survive while running on the surface of rotating planets. Since the character runs automatically, you’ll have to tap and double tap to make sure it safely finishes all of the 240 levels. Download 99 Moons from the App Store for free.

Ninja Neko

If you’re looking for an action-packed game, here is one: Ninja Neko. Your only goal is to climb as high as you can, so get started! You’ll jump from side to side, collect coins, avoid obstacles, and more! Why don’t you try it for yourself? Download Ninja Neko for free from the App Store.

Marvel Avengers Academy

Just in case you missed any of the Marvel characters, here is a game to compensate: Marvel Avengers Academy. Build the Super Hero academy and play as your favorite Avengers character but with a twist: Now they are students developing their superpowers. Wouldn’t you like to become a hero? Download Marvel Avengers Academy for free from the App Store or Google Play.

Digital Scrapbooking with Handmade Scraps

Since Valentine’s Day is only a week away, here is an app you might consider to surprise your sweetheart: Digital Scrapbooking. You can create unique cards, thanks to this scrapbooking app, and the best thing is you decide on the design elements and, of course, choose from your own photos. Surprise your Valentine with a special card created by yourself! Download Digital Scrapbooking for free from the App Store / Google Play.

Day One 2

The first version of Day One was already a hit, thanks to the great journaling experience it provided. If you’ve been using it, you already know. But this paid update, Day One 2, brings a new app built from the ground up for an excellent writing and life-capturing experience. Now, you can add multiple photos per entry (up to ten inline pics), create custom reminders; and, by the way, the app will automatically add metadata, such as location, weather, motion activity, step count, and music so it’s much more convenient. Download Day One 2 for $4.99. Available for MacOS and iOS.
