Today Treehouse, a company dedicated to revolutionizing the way people learn web design, web development, and iOS development, is launching a buy one, give one program. The new program stipulates that for every gold account somebody purchases, a matching gold account is donated to a public school student.

Current students who are learning web design typically earn up to $73,000 per year, according to the Treehouse team. That ranks them 41 percent higher than the national average, but Treehouse wants to keep growing that average.

“At Treehouse our mission is to make technology education affordable and accessible to everyone on Earth. To that end, we’ve been working hard to get Treehouse curriculum into schools,” says Alan Johnson, co-founder of Treehouse. “Coding has changed our world in amazing ways and will continue to do so. We believe programming is something everyone should have an opportunity to learn, especially during their school years.”

And their research has shown that American Treehouse Students of six months or longer earned $10,000 more per year in comparison with new students. And in an ever changing job market where certain skills become quickly outdated, Treehouse’s mission becomes all the more important.

“Our hope is that together we can end the days when only overachieving students in schools wealthy enough to have a Computer Science teacher on their faculty have access to programming classes. Every student deserves a chance. Let’s make it happen,” says Johnson.
