If you are like me and often very busy or on the road, house plants either need to be hardy or they don’t stand a chance. Since house plants cannot talk, it’s sometimes tough to remember the last time they were cared for. Luckily, there now may be a solution that might be able to help, as The Botanicalls Kit (priced at $99.00) can give your house plant a voice by connecting them to Twitter.

That’s right: Your plants can now tweet you if they need a drink.

After assembling the device (some soldering skills required), simply place it into the soil of one of your house plants. The device looks at water supply and then sends you status updates on your mobile phone. When your plant needs water, it will post to let you know, and it will also send its thanks when you show it love. So hopefully your house plants, now with a new added voice, will be able to live a long and happy life.

Still not sure if you want to invest in The Botanicalls Kit? If you are close to New York City you could go see one first hand on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York as part of the “Talk to Me” exhibit and let the product do the talking.
