Twestival Chicago is coming. In fact, it’s on Thursday! Twestival is a great event focused on bringing Twitter users together for a cause. This time the cause is charity: water. I would absolutely be there if I wasn’t already committed to working with some entrepreneurship students at Northwestern that night.
Here are the details from friend-of-TECH cocktail Mark Carter who is also organizing the event. Have fun at Twestival Chicago!
On 12 February 2009 175+ cities around the world will be hosting Twestivals which bring together Twitter communities for an evening of fun and to raise money and awareness for charity: water.
Chicago’s event will be a casual, fun night of social networking for a cause. You’ll have a chance to meet your online friends and some offline friends while enjoying drinks at the Catalyst Ranch.
If you’re a Twitter “pro” you’ll be able to share your expertise and if you’re new to Twitter or just wondering about Twitter there will be plenty of people to answer questions. There won’t be any presentations, just great conversations.
And for more information and a quick, direct way to learn more and get involved:
Instead of just meeting at the event we’ve also set up a Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=59499469458&ref=mf) so people can connect before AND after the event. We’ll be posting pictures, reviews, comments and continuing conversations long after the event is over.
