A team of web developers from Wales, TheGenieLab, is setting up shop in Miami’s trendy neighborhood Wynwood.

The new office – located within incubator campus The Lab Miami – is a way to expand a further footprint into the US market where they have an already high-demand for their offerings. The company, founded by Andrew Cargill and Daniel Lewis, is a team of 10 in the United Kingdom with clients across the world including startups Brightpearl, Flubit and NationBuilder.

“It is an exciting challenge to lead the international expansion of this young and successful Welsh tech company and bring my experience to the two co-founders and the team to help drive the business on to the next level,” says Fredy Dellis, CEO of TheGenieLab.

Dellis led the company’s expansion in the UK and will  lead the US expansion. He is the former President International of Hertz and Burger King.

As to why the UK company chose to open their first US office in Miami, Dellis says Miami is not only more affordable than many cities in the West Coast, but because of the time difference – it works better to conduct business than in Europe.
