As someone who regularly meets with clients and partners at coffee shops, having access to Wi-Fi is super important. I honestly don’t know why a coffee shop or café wouldn’t want to offer Wi-Fi. It increase foot-traffic and allows you to brand your landing page.
If you think setting up Wi-Fi is hard, check out Napa Valley-based startup AdSpots, a company that makes it easy for anyone to create a Wi-Fi spot. Their platform lets advertisers upload their ad online and edit the ad as often as they want. Advertisers can provide ongoing offers and product or service information in their ads and make money by selling ads on the landing page.
As founder Sandra Schulze, noted, “It’s a win-win situation since market research indicates that people really don’t mind ads in exchange for free internet. They just don’t want to download stuff or fill-in forms.” She backs that up with some data: surveys have shown that more than 90% of consumers would view advertising in exchange for free Wi-Fi access. Interesting.
To learn how easy it is to create your own Wi-Fi HotSpot and start making money through ad revenue, check out this quick rundown. Pretty easy to get going, plus it’s a new revenue stream, which is always great.
