Tuesday afternoon, VegasTechFund Managing Partner Andy White shared some key stats about their 2013 activity, during the Downtown Lowdown town hall produced by the Downtown Project, which is the group leading the effort to revitalize downtown Las Vegas.

In the VegasTechFund portfolio, there are …

  1. 74 companies
  2. 29 teams with a Vegas presence
  3. 177 Vegas-based employees
  4. 33% teams with a female founder

These are some incredible stats for an early-stage fund that’s not that old. Seventy-four companies are a lot of companies to invest in in that short of a time frame. Plus, being able to attract 33 percent teams with a female founder is very impressive.

The next year will be very important for the VegasTechFund, as I’d imagine their first cohort of early-stage investments should be either looking for bridge or Series A investments.
