The VegasTechFund has announced a new investment in the web-based social influence platform Fluencr. Alongside Benjamin Falk, Ben Floyd, and Bradley Potterbaum, Gerome Sapp welcomed $300,000 in total funding to keep the platform headed in a positive direction.
As a professional football player with the Baltimore Ravens, Sapp was endorsed by a lot of different brands. His social media influence helped boost the popularity of these brands, but he realized that everybody else, much like professional athletes, also likes to promote brands.
Unlike professional athletes, though, the normal person has a harder time connecting with brands, agencies, and initiatives they like. So Sapp wanted to provide them with a dedicated platform that highlights the power and influence they can provide for brands.
Fluencr was built as an open marketplace platform that lets brands create social media campaigns in real time. From there, users can sign onto the campaigns to show brands, agencies, and initiatives the influence and reach they can provide across social media avenues.
And it is not a one-way street, either. The users who are doing the leg work through Fluencr are recognized for their efforts by brands through tracking. They are thus rewarded for their efforts, essentially securing a micro endorsement from their favorite brand.
Sapp and his team continually cling to the idea that influence can be measured by real actions, and that everybody has the power to provide influence for their favorite brands as long as they are given an opportunity. The VegasTechFund is helping Sapp extend that opportunity to dedicated fans everywhere.
