Create a Video Clip from a Message at Vizlingo

If you’re looking for a new way to engage with your target market and cut through the noise on social media, check out Vizlingo, a new platform that animates each word of a message or post with a video clip.  For now, you can only copy the link to the video and share it on Vizlingo, but soon you’ll be able to share it on your social networks and via mobile devices.

I tried it out, and it was pretty easy and fun.  Just register (takes like 10 seconds), hit the blue “create” button, type in a message, and each word will be illustrated by a 1-2 second video clip.   I typed in “I cannot wait to go snowboarding in Colorado this winter,” and here’s the clip it generated:

Don’t worry about weird clips popping up – you  have full control over the content, and you can customize each message with your own video clips and/or by adding a clip from the Global Lingo.

Once your clip is done, you can it to Vizlingo, see your friends’ clips, and look at favorites from a growing database of more than 30,000 clips from over 40 countries.  Like I mentioned above, all this sharing is on their website, but they have a lot of great stuff coming soon: iOS and Facebook apps, submit-a-clip functionality, and social media integration that lets you send clips to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube and using SMS.

I love the backstory of this company: the idea came to founders Azeo Fables and Todd Younggren during a yearlong backpacking excursion around the world.

Fables emailed me:

For some reason we rely on a emoticons to convey an emotion when modern technology is capable of a much greater tool. By integrating user-generated content into a messaging environment Vizlingo brings expression and impact into the bleak world of text-only communication.

Beyond using this for fun, I see a lot of potential for social media marketing – you can really get creative and put together some fun video clips to share across social media platforms. Give it a try and let me know what you think – will you use this on a personal or business level, or both?  Leave a comment a below!
