As a former manager at Best Buy and Bed Bath & Beyond, Will Fuentes knows what it’s like to run a brick-and-mortar store. And now, a few years later, stores are facing even more competition from online retailers like Amazon.

With Lemur IMS, Fuentes’s DC-based startup, he hopes to help offline stores deal with their inventory. By collecting and analyzing data, Lemur can figure out which items to suggest to which customers at which prices.

Below, Fuentes chats briefly about his journey toward the startup life, and his best advice for entrepreneurs. Watch the full video with Will Fuentes. The interview was filmed on July 24, 2012, at Tech Cocktail Sessions in Washington, DC. It is also part of the Tech Cocktail Conversations podcast – subscribe on iTunes.
