Dutch startup Withlocals launched their new travel guide app that connects travelers with trusted local hosts in Southeast Asia.  Instead of relying on generic recommendations on your next trip abroad, Withlocals’ new app will help you easily connect with locals. The unique “Ask a local” option provides travelers the ability to book tours, eat home dinners and enjoy activities with local residents.

“Since our launch in December 2013, we have been overwhelmed with the positive feedback that we received from our community, both hosts and travelers,” said Co-Founder Marijn Maas. “The development of the Withlocals app came as the next natural step. Our app changes the approach to traveling – no more travel guide books, but real, authentic suggestions from local hosts.”

Southeast Asia is one of the top regions for tourism, with over 89 thousand tourists visiting various countries in 2014. Withlocals’ offer authentic experiences in 8 countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Vietnam.

The app offers customers three types of experiences: eat with locals, tour with locals and find activities with locals. To add even more functionality to it, the app includes a personal administration dashboard, location-based suggestions, and reviews from other travelers.
