Meet the 15-Year Zappos Employee Whose Title Is “No Title”

When Fred Mossler joined Zappos in 1999, it was a risky choice. He had held a stable job at Nordstrom for eight years, and Zappos was just a struggling startup.

Things worked out pretty well, though. Zappos’s sales are now more than $1 billion per year, it has about 4,000 employees, and it was acquired by Amazon in 2009 for a reported $1.2 billion.

Mossler joined us at our SXSW Startup Celebration sponsored by .CO and CEA to talk about his lack of a title, and how Taco Bell influenced Zappos strategy. Here’s the video.

Editor’s Note: Thank you to .CO and CEA, sponsors of Tech Cocktail’s 2014 SXSW Startup Celebration!
