RxMatch Gives Patients Recovery and Sustainable Wellness On-The-Go

Today, San Francisco-based startup RxMatch launches a post-op care platform for web and mobile devices. The platform includes best practices and treatment compliance orchestrated by a trained health coach; keeping doctors, nurses, patients, and care-givers informed between visits with clinical information that is insightful and actionable.

RxMatch leverages technology to extend these pivotal relationships beyond the hospital room, keeping doctors and patients connected between visits with medical information that is insightful and actionable. The platform includes a 12-week program that incorporates routine aspects of post-surgery care, treatment and condition maintenance, while tracking patient progress and monitoring clinical areas of concern. The data and analytics engine compiles patient-generated information in real-time so that patients can easily track their progress and understand critical behavioral changes and shifts in treatments.

“There is a huge bottleneck in the current healthcare system caused by over treatments, unnecessary surgeries, and ridiculous cost hikes,” said Kian Raiszadeh, founder of RxMatch and former orthopedic surgeon.  “We’re looking to disrupt the recovery and patient engagement system by making it more transparent and real-time helping both healthcare practitioners and patients.”

According to USA Today, unnecessary surgeries might account for 10% to 20% of all operations in some specialties, including a wide range of cardiac procedures,  as well as many spinal surgeries. RxMatch aims at changing this statistic by both patients and health care practitioners a digitized physician’s best practices and discharge instructions, specifically catering to ‘chronic disease management’ and ‘post-surgical recovery’.

RxMatch also offers a white-label version to self-insured companies and providers. This program provides patients with access to health coaches and a community of patients to share with and learn from.

RxMatch recently raised US $500K in seed round.
